Financial Markets

The Financial Markets Department plays a very important role by managing the open market operations at the Bank. The central bank may consider buying and selling treasury bonds and bills as a way of controlling money in supply. This Department also manages the funds that are lent to commercial banks for their liquidity purposes, as well as managing the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
