Balance
of Payments
The tables on Balance of Payments, relates to
transactions between Namibia and the rest of the world. The BoP has two main
sectors namely the Current account and the Capital and Financial account.
- The current account covers issues related to trade transactions in goods and
services as well as current transfers between residents and non-residents.
- The capital account covers financial transactions
between residents and non-residents.
Further the set of tables also reflect information on exchange rates as well as
Nominal and Real effective exchange rates.
Monetary
and Financial Statistics
The monetary and financial statistics tables mainly
reflect transactions of the banking sector in Namibia. This includes Assets and
Liabilities of commercial banks, other banking institutions and the detailed
account of the Bank of Namibia. The figures reflected in these tables are all on
an aggregated basis.
The
Real Sector
The real sector tables cover developments in the real
sector of the Namibian economy. They consist of national account and Inflation
tables. The fifteen national account tables indicate the developments in
different activities of the economy in order to determine the growth in the
gross domestic product and the per capita income. They also indicate the
expenditure in the economy and the level of investment done.
The other two tables cover the interim consumer price index. These tables
indicate changes in price developments. The source of the real sector tables is
the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Government Finance Statistics
The Government Finance Statistics Tables cover the income and the
expenditure of the General Government that consist of all Government units and
all nonmarket nonprofit institutions that are controlled and mainly financed by
Government units.
