The Bank of Namibia donated a special operations vehicle to the Namibian Police Force at an official handover ceremony on Tuesday, 23 April 2024. The donation received by the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, underscored the strong partnership between the two institutions and their shared commitment to enhancing public safety and security.

The Namibian Police Force has been a crucial ally to the Bank, ensuring the safety and security of the nation's currency. Recognising the importance of supporting the Namibian Police in their duties, the Bank acquired and donated the vehicle to the Special Reserve Force Division. This vehicle will bolster the division's capacity to conduct special operations effectively.

The handover ceremony marked a significant step in the collaboration between the Bank and the Namibian Police Force. It reflects the joint commitment to maintaining law and order and fostering a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
